My mom e-mailed me this morning and we got my flight changed so that I come home a couple days earlier than planned. Because I have not adapted well to the time change, I was really worried about being able to move the day after I got home... Thanks mom!! I will now arrive home August 15th. :)
Norway is in one word... BEAUTIFUL!
Norway is in one word... BEAUTIFUL!
Anne and Leif have friends staying here who are from Germany. I REALLY like them! I think they are really funny and extremely nice. They have actually been to Utah before! (Above) we are on our way to the horses.
Again, we brushed them and got them looking good! :)
This horse just does NOT like me very much! haha (same horse that bucked me off)
This is a speed limit sign. The first time I drove, it totally threw me off because I had never seen one like that!
That is the name of the town Johanna lives in.
Larisa met up with us after the bridge on a horse I had never seen before. She was beautiful though!
Guess who??? haha I was TERRIFIED to get back on but I DID IT!! And this time we ran without any problems. :) What a relief!
Johanna took this picture haha Larisa asked me,"Have you ever seen horse shit before?" Haha! To them, that isn't a swear word and they use it ALL THE TIME. It cracks me up.
I guess the horse was tired or something haha it just layed down like that and Wiebke had to try to get it back up on all fours.
Haha SMILE!! :)
THAT'S RIGHT!! Guess who's running!! Yahoo!!
Run baby run!! :)
I really was scared though. I only ran for a second and then I got off content. I got back on and ran and that was all that mattered to me today haha
This is me happy about it :)
There are wild flowers EVERWHERE and I think they are SO pretty! I loved taking pictures today.
The flower was TOUCHING the lense! I was just messing with the settings and I think some of the pictures turned out really cool.
Goofy girls in Larisa's room
Going for a walk
These two had more energy than I think I have EVER had! haha
Larisa picked us all apples from this tree even though they aren't even close to ripe.
They were SOUR!
I LOVE RASBERRIES!!!!!!!!!!
We walked to a cabin on the beach to say hi to five of Johanna and Larisa's friends who were staying there. I want to thank my parents for teaching me that alcohol is not healthy because even though I still respect those who chose to drink, I am glad that I have not subjected myself to that addiction. I watched them do shots and drink and it was only 5:00 at night. I can't see that EVER making for a happy life. I'm sure they are good people... I hope nobody is offended by this comment. I am just grateful for the standards I am able to hold true to. I am also grateful that the people I have met here have been so respectful of those standards.
Larisa found crabs on the walk home because we took a different way that went right by the ocean :)
Looking for crabs in the rocks
Foud a dead seagull :P yuck
These crazy girls were pretty much tasting everything they found!
We had dinner with Larisa's family and Wiebke and the other friends from Germany as well :)
This is "Komla". It is a traditional Norwegian meal. Leif told us that it is the "poor man's food" of Norway. It is also considered a meal only eaten on Thursdays. It consists of lamb meat, potatoes, bacon, a sasauge-type-thing, carrots, and potatoes mixed with flour. It Iwas pretty tasty... quite interesting. Glad I could try something new!! I checked my bank account today to see how much money I had spent and my hamburger and fries that I had the other night cost me $20!! YIKES!!
Larisa moved to Norway about four years ago. Her family is actually German! So her mother LOVES to cook desserts and cooked FOUR for us tonight. The round cake looking one was pretty much all coconut so I didn't really like it... but the rest of them were delicious!
YUMMY!!
EVEN YUMMIER!!!
Not quite as yummy because it was coconut and I don't like the texture or really even the taste of coconut ;)
